The Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes at Arizona State University seeks applications from writers with an interest in science and technology, for a workshop and conference on \”The Rightful Place of Science?\”, May 15-19 in Tempe, AZ. Poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, journalists, documentary filmmakers, bloggers and other writers involved in alternative media, and museum communicators may apply. Applicants should be at the beginning stages of their careers. Participants will enjoy an all-expenses-paid, five-day retreat as the guest of the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes, including a stay at the Mission Palms Hotel, Tempe, AZ, plus a $500 honorarium. The event features two intense days of writing, highlighted by an intimate and practical workshop with Lee Gutkind, author and editor of Creative Nonfiction Magazine, and a conversation with New York Times science writer Gina Kolata.
